We created the wedding flowers for Claire and Simon’s rustic vintage wedding in April at South Farm, Royston. It was our first wedding at South Farm and what a find! It is a really special place with beautiful mature grounds which allowed for some amazing photo opportunities – we were really taken by the gypsy caravans guests can stay in, a really unique offering!
Claire was recommended to us by her bridesmaid Alex – we had created her wedding flowers some years before. Recommendations are our favourite way to grow our business and getting to catch up with Alex during Claire’s meetings was really lovely.
The brief for Claire’s wedding was vintage, relaxed, country garden style; with the most amazing 50’s style flowery bridesmaid dresses which became the inspiration for the floral colour palette of pale pink.
To create Claire’s rustic hand tied bouquet we used gypsophila, white freesia, lavender, sweet avalanche roses, soft pink spray roses, waxflower, white aster, white thistles and eucalyptus.
The rustic barn at South Farm was the setting for the couple’s intimate wedding breakfast attended by their closest family and friends. They had one long banquet style table which filled the centre of the barn. To decorate the table under the colourful bunting, we used rustic jugs along with our vintage cut glass vases and votives filled with natural garden style displays which were scattered the full length of the table.
Additionally, we made Claire a heart wreath which was initially hung on the front door of where she was getting ready and then later it was placed behind the newly married couple at the reception, a very romantic touch!
A little note from our bride and groom:
“Thank you again…they were truly beautiful! I have been highly recommending you. Our wonderful photographer was Sophie Connell we would highly recommend her.”Claire & Simon
