Deciding what flowers to have for your wedding is exciting but can be overwhelming, we are on hand to offer expert advice and often help with other aspects of the wedding too!

Ensure you find the right florist for you. Try to consider personality, customer service and style as well as price. It’s important that you feel comfortable with your florist, able to express your own ideas and trust they will help create your dream day. This can all mean a lot more than saving a few pounds.

All brides are different, some choose to get every detail of their wedding sorted out months before the wedding, others choose to wait until relatively close to the event. We can fit in with you, however please get your date in our diary as soon as possible, we get booked up very early!!

We offer free consultations and can meet during the day, evening and sometimes weekends (depending on our wedding commitments.) Whatever stage your wedding planning has reached, we are happy to discuss your wedding flowers with you.

At the initial consultation we will go through every aspect of your wedding flower requirements, ranging from your bridal bouquet to church and venue decoration. Bring along as much information as you can; pictures of bridal and bridesmaid dresses, material samples, magazine cuttings etc. Have a think about your wedding theme, style and colour, the types of flowers you would like and the style of floral displays, having a rough budget in mind is helpful too. After the consultation we will send you a no obligation quote, with full details of all the flowers, colours and styles we have discussed.

Choosing your colour/s is one of the most important things to consider. Take time to get this right and use material swatches, colour wheels and paint cards to see how colours work together. Carla has an unhealthy obsession with colours and overall wedding design and theme, if you’re struggling just ask for some advice – she loves to put her two-pennies worth in!

When choosing your wedding bouquet you should consider your height and build as well as the style of your dress, different shaped and sized bouquets can change the way you look. We will advise you on this.

It’s a nice idea for the groom’s buttonhole to match the bride’s flowers and the best man, ushers and dads to wear a flower that matches the bridesmaids bouquets.

The choice of flowers for bridesmaids should reflect the style of the bride’s bouquet, the colour of their dresses and the age and size of the bridesmaids.

Arrangements for the church may include stunning pedestal decorations for the entrance porch, alter and lectern, decorations for the pew-ends, window sills and font. If time permits, it may be possible to move some of the church flowers to the reception venue as additional decorations.

Table centre pieces must be low so people can see over them or high and slim so guests can talk and see under them!! But how about using a combination of both tall and low around the room, it’s very effective!

If you need to be careful with your budget, a few big striking displays can be more effective than lots of little ones. Also consider re-using displays, i.e. a registrars table display can be used on the top table later.

Remember that dates such as Valentine's, Mothers Day and around Christmas means flower prices at market go up, its simple supply and demand.
